Kinfold · with Mae

Keep Mom in the fold.

Mae is a friendly voice on Mom's kitchen table. She answers "what day is it?", reads out the pill reminders you set, word for word, and passes on your messages. You see how her day went from your phone.

One button. No apps, passwords or screens to learn. Set up for you before it arrives.

MOMMae, what day is it?
MAEIt's Sunday, the fifth of October. Linda says she'll call you at seven tonight.
MOMOh good. Did I take my morning pills?
MAEI can't tell from here. There was a reminder at eight for the blue box. Let's check the pill box together.

A day with Mae

Small things, said at the right time.

Mae speaks up when something is due and listens whenever Mom presses the button. Reminders and family messages are read exactly as you wrote them.

8:00 AM

Morning pills

"Reminder. Time for your morning pills, the ones in the blue box."

If nobody answers, Mae says it once more ten minutes later.

10:30 AM

A note from you

"Message from Linda. The grandkids loved your cookies!"

Send it from your phone. Mae reads it out within a minute.

2:00 PM

Some company

"Tell me about the garden this year."

Friendly conversation whenever she wants it, in short, clear sentences.

7:00 PM

Evening pills

"Reminder. Time for your evening pills, the ones in the green box."

The next reminder always shows on the screen, too.

Sunday

Your weekly summary

"6 days talking, 13 of 14 reminders heard."

A calm overview for you, without listening in on her conversations.

For you, wherever you are

Stay close without hovering.

Set reminders in your own words

Why not just a smartphone?

Built for one person, and the people who love her.

A phone can do a lot for someone who uses it confidently. Kinfold is for the parent who doesn't, and it sits alongside her phone rather than replacing it.

Safety and privacy

Clear about what Mae will and won't do.

Medication

"That's a question for your doctor or pharmacist."

Mae never suggests, changes or confirms a medicine or dose. She only reads the reminders your family set.

Emergencies

"I can't call for help. Please press your alert button or call 911 right now."

If Mom mentions a fall, chest pain or trouble breathing, Mae says exactly this, every time.

Scams

"That sounds like a scam. Please hang up and call your family."

Mae never asks for or repeats bank, card, Social Security or Medicare details.

No camera

Kinfold devices have no camera. Nothing is sent to our servers until Mom presses the button or says Mae's wake phrase.

Audio is deleted right away

Speech is turned into text on our own servers, and the sound is deleted as soon as that's done. Mae keeps no memory of past conversations.

Her conversations stay hers

Your weekly summary shows activity and reminders, not what she talked about. Her words go to an AI service as text so Mae can reply.

Kinfold is not a medical alert device and does not call 911.

Be one of our first families

Join the Kinfold pilot.

We're inviting a small group of families to try Mae at home for 30 days, set up in person, and tell us honestly what works. Your stories will be the first ones on this page.

  • 30 days at home, free or at cost
  • We set everything up and check in each week
  • Your honest feedback shapes what we build next

We use your details only to contact you about the pilot, and we'll delete them if you ask. Read our privacy policy.

Questions families ask

FAQ

Does Mom need a smartphone or an app?

No. She presses one button and talks. You use the family dashboard on your own phone or computer.

What does she need at home?

Wi-Fi and a power outlet. We set the device up before it arrives; if her Wi-Fi changes, we walk you through updating it.

Can Mae call 911 or alert us after a fall?

No. Kinfold is not a medical alert device. Mae tells Mom to press her alert button or call 911. If she needs fall detection, keep a dedicated medical alert service.

Will Mae remind her to take her pills?

Yes, at the times you set, in your exact words, with one repeat if nobody answers. Mae can't tell whether a pill was taken, and says so.

Is anyone listening to her conversations?

We don't listen in. Nothing is sent to our servers until Mom presses the button or says Mae's wake phrase, there's no camera, and the sound is deleted once it's turned into text. Her words are sent as text to an AI service so Mae can answer, and your weekly summary shows activity, not conversations.

What does it cost?

Kinfold Desk is $379 and Kinfold Go is $219, including setup. The care plan is $19.99 a month. Pilot families pay less; see above.
